Holiday Traditions

Puzzles in Parenting
wishes you
 and
your family
a great winter season!

With the holidays fast approaching, sometimes we instantly feel stress. If not our own, then that of those around us. Not only do the holidays haunt us, but the dark skies and cold weather can make us feel a little more isolated as parents.
Here are some tips to help you think of these cold days as more than shopping and stress:

Rewrite your traditions
As your family grows, consider rewriting your traditions or create new ones that you and your kids will look forward to each year. Try giving your kids a new ornament each year so they can add them when they grow up and have their own tree. Or have a skating day with friends and family and hot chocolate afterward. Or maybe a holiday movie night might be a fun thing to look forward to.
Try to include fun things in the days leading up to the holidays and you may find that this time of year is enriched with new meaning.

Enjoy your family time.

Niki Jacques
"How To Fit An Hour Of Exercise Into Your Already Busy Schedule"

Niki Jacques is the owner of Survivor Bootcamp for the Coquitlam and Port Moody locations.  She is a marathoner, ultra-marathoner and adventure racer and is also the mother of 2 young children.  She knows what it is like to try to fit exercise into a very busy, hectic shedule.
Kick start your New Year with a goal to get in at least 30 minutes to an hour a day of exercise.  We all want to look and feel better, but when we get busy our exercise regime is usually the first thing to go.
Exercising, whether it be an hour of walking, running, yogo or an aerobic or gym class, will give you increased energy, better sleep at night, easy stress, increase your metabolism, lose weight and generally feel better.
Come and hear how you can:
* fit exercise into your daily routine
* make better nutritional choices on the go and at home
* get great recipes for fast, healthy eating
* learn some facts and myths of weight loss
* learn how to re-energize your business and family life with increased energy

Sincerely,
